My Professional Journey (1965 to the present)

Music has been a lifelong passion, and I have been fortunate to spend more than 60 years entertaining audiences throughout the region. My musical career began during my senior year of high school and continued through college (1965–1970) with The Knight Kats, one of the area's premier wedding and party bands.

After serving in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972, I joined The Highlanders (1972–1981), a well-established five-piece band known for its rich, big-band sound and outstanding musicianship. We performed every Saturday night at the Wyandotte/Riverview Moose Club on Quarry Road in Riverview, Michigan, entertaining dancers and music enthusiasts with an extensive repertoire of ballroom favorites, including foxtrots, waltzes, polkas, swing, and other popular dance music of the era.

During the same period, I also performed with the Wayne Warren Trio, providing music for lounges, restaurants, private parties, weddings, dances, and other special events throughout southeastern Michigan.

In 1981, three of the original members reunited to revive The Knight Kats, and the band once again became a popular choice for weddings, parties, dances, and special events throughout the region.

After retiring from a career as a social studies teacher in 2006, I devoted myself to my lifelong passion for music as a solo accordionist. Since then, I have entertained audiences throughout Southeast Michigan at senior living, assisted living, and memory care communities, as well as festivals, birthday celebrations, restaurants, wedding receptions, anniversaries, reunions, and a wide variety of community events. In addition to my solo performances, I occasionally perform with the Knight Kats band.
